The TrueSwitch Wizard is a small software program that you download to your computer.
When run, it can detect the Internet accounts installed on your computer. You select which account you wish to switch from, and which one to switch to…the TrueSwitch Wizard will do the rest.
You can customize the settings for each part of your switching between accounts by choosing the "Custom Install" option when running the TrueSwitch Wizard.
The TrueSwitch Wizard communicates with our servers which will then log into your old account on your behalf to retrieve a copy of your personal information stored on the servers of your old Internet Service Provider, and then copy that information to your new account.
Similarly, the TrueSwitch servers will continue to access your old account to forward any new emails that you may have received.
The TrueSwitch Wizard is designed to run on the same computer that you use to access your old e-mail account.
For example, if you are switching from ATT and you access ATT primarily from your home computer, the recommended sequence is as follows:
- Create a new Network Solutions account
- Download and run the TrueSwitch Wizard on your home computer.
Requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional with Internet Explorer 5 or higher.
- Pentium II 233 MHz or higher
- 64 MB of Memory or higher
- Access e-mail via Outlook Express.
